Artist Statement: Clouded Earth

Clouds are beautiful to look at both from space and from the earth’s surface.  They reflect light at all different times of the day -sunrise to sunset, with colorful and picturesque displays.  The mid-day shifting white swirls against a deep blue sky also act as a sunshield helping our earth stay cool enough to be habitable.  Will we have to resort to engineering more cloud cover to save us from an overheating earth?  What are we getting into if we try?  We should increase science funding immediately to fully explore alternatives before we do not have a choice.
